Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply?

Click here, scroll down and click the submit button. All you need is a digital image of your creative work and your zip code.

How do I know if my work was chosen?

We email applicants whose creative works have been chosen at the end of each month.

My creative work was chosen now what?

Congratulations! Come visit your creative work and check it out! You can take screenshots and record video using the app. Share images and videos on social media using hashtag #arcag and we will promote your post on our Instagram account.

How do you choose creative works to be displayed?

It is random. We take all the submissions we received in a month that (follow the rules ) and have a computer randomly pick five of the creative works. For example, we would count all the submissions we received in July and pick five submissions at random that would be shown in August.

Why do you choose creative works randomly?

It is about equity. This is a community art gallery. It is a place for everyone from every walk of life to show their creativity. Our goal is to promote visual creativity by individuals and the interaction with creative works by the community.

Why do you allow creative works to be displayed without personal information?

This is an art gallery for everyone not just professional artists. We want to make sure there is no pressure on applicants to feel like they have to create ‘expert’ artworks. We will show any creative work made by an individual (as long as it doesn’t break the Don’t be a Jerk policy).

What am I allowed to submit?

We are open to most every form of artistic expression, but we do have a “Don’t be a Jerk” policy. The AR Community Art Gallery is a place to express yourself but not to attack, bully or slander another person or group. We will not display any artworks containing hateful imagery. Being a public gallery we can also not display X-rated content. A satirical perspective is always appreciated.

What are the rules?

  • only one submission per person per month

  • your zip code is required in your email submission

  • you can’t break the Don’t be a Jerk policy
